Bericht der THW-Jugend Siegen
Eine Gruppe Studenten und Sportler aus Kazan in Russland hat bei einer Reise durch Europa auch Halt in Siegen gemacht und der THW-Jugend Siegen einen Besuch abgestattet. Die Gruppe war durch verschieden Länder unterwegs, um Werbung für die Bewerbung Kazans um die Austragung der Universiade 2011 zu machen. Von Russland aus ging die Reise durch Polen und Deutschland bis nach Belgien. Parallel zum Bus bewältigten die jungen Studenten die Strecke als Marathonlauf. An jeder Stadion berichteten sie den Menschen über die Universiade und die Stadt Kazan.
In Siegen wurde als Treffpunkt das „Obere Schloss“ mit einem Blick über die ganze Stadt ausgewählt. Zusammen mit Jugendlichen der THW – Jugend Siegen liefen die Studenten die letzten Meter bis zum Schlosstor. Die THW´ler hießen die Delegation aus Kazan herzlich Willkommen und überreichten ihnen das Buch vom „THW – Helfer Tom“ und einen THW – Teddy. Im Gegenzug bekam die Jugendgruppe ein Bild der Stadt Kazan für den Jugendraum und Jugendbetreuer Michael Philipp eine landestypische Mütze geschenkt. Beim anschließenden Fototermin im Schlossgarten kam es zu vielen interessanten Gesprächen. Zwei Studenten aus Kazan erklärten in deutscher Sprache die Hintergründe der Universiade in Kazan und die Mitglieder der THW – Jugend konnten die Studenten die Aufgaben des THW erläutern. Auch ein Vertreter des Stadtjugendring Siegen war mit anwesend und begrüßte die Gäste. Bevor sich die Gruppe in Richtung Köln auf den Weg machte, durften sich alle Jugendliche auf dem Reisebus der Studentengruppe verewigen.

Press-attache of the International SuperMarathon “Kazan – Brussels”
On May, 27, the SuperMarathoners team covered the last longest-running stage of the Super Relay, exceeding the distance plan for about 100 km. As a matter of fact, the distance had been thought of to run in Autobahns, while the marathoners had to lead their way, avoiding them in some distant rounded roads. As a result, for the 19th day of the Super Relay, our team covered 304 km, in stead of 217 km in accord to the plan; each participant did about 20 – 30 km.
Taking their start in Braunschweig about 11 a.m. on May, 27 Tatarstan athletes ran in the direction of Koln. On their way, they made a short stop in Siegen to have a meeting with young THG activists. “THG” is something like the old Soviet pioneers organization, which helps everyone is in need, i.e. emergency medicine, police, fire fighters and etc. The more pleasant it sounded for us, that they showed their support for Kazan – candidate city for the host of the Unhiversiade-2013. So far as they explained their support, they really liked Kazan, and heard a lot about the city, alongside the Universiade, in their opinion, presents a very powerful means of healthy way of life promotion, which could be used widely for the purpose of up-bringing the young generation.
It happened so, that Braunschweig and Siegen in sum contributed 207 votes in the petition-box for the Universiade-2013 in Kazan. Two days before the finish in Brussels there are 2592 signatures there, representing peoples of Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany.
There are only 2 days left. At about midday our team plans to cross the border Germany – Belgium, at about midnight – to reach the city of Namur.
